The ILGU has announce that coaching grants will be awarded to up to 100 clubs through the 2016 ILGU Club Coaching Grant Programme.

Supported by the R&A, almost €30,000 will be invested in the development of "girls only" coaching programmes within clubs.

The ILGU, through each District Junior Development Committee, will provide advice and support to clubs through the process of planning and delivering coaching, in addition to suggesting activities and events which clubs can offer to further encourage girls’ participation in a coaching programme.

Grants which will range from €200/£165 to €350/£275 per club, based on the number of girls participating in the club's coaching programme, will also be subject to a number of contributing factors such as number of junior female members registered, number of active girls, compliance with the ILGU Junior Policy, previous record of delivering Club Coaching under terms of the grant and history of communication with ILGU Junior Development Committee (JDC) members.

All communications regarding the club coaching grant, including how to apply and details of grant amounts, as well as terms and conditions associated with the grants and the payment process are only available to clubs through their listed JDC member.

If clubs are interested in availing of Club Coaching Grants, we ask that the Club Junior Convenor or another member of the Ladies Club Committee, contact their JDC member to express an interest and start the process as only the first 100 clubs will be guaranteed to receive a grant.

Conditions of the Club Coaching Grant include the following:

  • Must be girls only coaching sessions delivered
  • Girls must receive a minimum of 10hrs coaching
  • Girls must be an existing member of the club, with a registered GolfNet number
  • Grant cannot be used to subsidise coaching to recruit new junior members
  • Coaching must be delivered by a PGA Professional
