Scotland’s Lloyd Saltman leads in SpainLurgan’s Gareth Shaw fired a six under par 66 but still found himself nine strokes adrift of runaway leader Lloyd Saltman entering the final round of the Hi5 Pro Tour’s Hacienda del Alamo Open.

The former Irish international carded seven birdies and a bogey to move up to joint third on six under par. But he is playing for second place after Saltman followed his opening 65 with a 64 to lead by eight shots from England’s James Busby on 15 under par.

Saltman’s brother Elliot, who is serving a three month suspension from the European Tour after he was found guilty of a “serious breach” of the rules during an event in Russia last September, shot a 67 to sit 11 strokes off the pace on four under.

Jonny Caldwell, who was Rory McIlroy’s foursome partner in the 2007 Walker Cup, added a 70 to his opening 71 to share 11th on three under.

The Castle’s Dara Lernihan made the four over par cut on the mark after a 75 but Cian Curley, Neil O’Briain and Dermot O’Neill missed out.
