Portmarnock Links' Robin Dawson shot a six-under 66 to move up to tied 11th in the Vierumäki Finnish Challenge.

At eight under par, he was five strokes behind Rikard Karlberg, who took a one-shot lead into the final round just months after returning to the game following a serious illness.

The Swede, who returned to the European Challenge Tour at the start of this season after a year and a half hiatus from the game due to a serious infection, began the third round with a narrow advantage over a six-strong chasing pack. Scores

He remained in control, carding a 68 to lead by a shot from South African Bryce Easton with Finn Roope Kakko and England's Mark Young tied for third, a shot further back.

"With the leaderboard so closely packed I’m going to need to go low out there again tomorrow, so I’m just trying to be as relaxed as I was today and see what happens," Karlberg said

Gavin Moynihan was tied 17th on seven-under and Cormac Sharvin 25th, a shot further back, after they both shot 71.
