Burke wins Leinster Veterans by three

Moate's Bert Burke won his second Leinster Veterans Championship in the space of three years with a three-stroke victory at Athy.

Leading by four strokes overnight from Cork's Peter Cowley and Tipperary's John O'Donoghue, he closed with a 77 to finish on five over 149 for his second win since capturing the title at Tullamore in 2012. 

Lisheen Spring's Hugh Donnelly shot a joint best of the day 75 to finish second on count back from Bandon's John Carroll (75) and Cowley (76).
