Irish Close champion John-Ross Galbraith added a level par 69 to his opening 68 to take a two-stroke lead into the last two rounds of the Ulster Youths Amateur Open at Balmoral.

The Whitehead talent had two birdies and two bogeys on his card to top the headboard one one under par 137 from Matthew McClean (72).

Galbraith's three clear of Leinster Youths champion Alex Gleeson and North West's James Lindsay in what will be his final outing before he makes his debut in the Men's Home Internationals in Wales next week.

Even with preferred lies in operation, Holywood's Rory Williamson was the only player to break par with a one under 68 on a day when Bundoran's Luke Robinson had a hole-in-lone at the 194-yard fourth.

The cut for the leading 54 players fell at 12 over par 150.
