European Men's Club Trophy — Torrential rain forced play to be suspended in the opening round of the European Men's Club Trophy at Pravets Golf Club, 40 miles east of Sofia.

Tramore Golf Club are Ireland's representative following their win in the AIG Senior Cup at Carton House last month.

Robin Dawson reported that he was level par on the 12th tee with team mates Paul Flynn and Christopher Butler "a couple over after nine."

Italy's Parco di Roma, highly fancied for the title with a combined handicap of almost plus 15 with Renato Paratore leading the way, were "going great" according to international Dawson.

However, the weather forecast is not good. Q-School — Stephen Grant and Fergal Rafferty need low final rounds to make it though the First Stage of the Q-School in the US.

Former footballer Grant shot a one under 71 at St. Johns Golf & Country Club in St Augustine in Florida to share 47th spot on two over.

The top-32 and ties qualify for the Second Stage which means that Grant is four strokes outside the qualifying mark entering Friday's final round.

At Morongo Golf Club at Tukwet Canyon - Champions in Beaumont, California, Dungannon's Fergal Rafferty is tied for 50th after a four over 76 and five shots outside the top-30 and ties who will progress there.
