Power with work to do at Web.com Tour Q-School

Seamus Power

Seamus Power birdied his last two holes to card a one under 71 in the first round of the Web,com Q-School First Stage at Pine Mountain in Georgia.

But despite his good finish, the West Waterford star goes into Thursday's second round a stroke outside the top 31 and ties who will progress to the Second Stage. Scores

Starting on the back nine, US-based Power picked up a shot at the par-five 16th and was one over with two to play after a double bogey six at the fourth.

His strong finish repaired some of the damage, leaving him tied for 34th in the 75-man field and six behind leader Kevin Hall from Cincinnati, who shot 65.

Dungannon's Fergal Rafferty and Stephen Grant from The Heritage will begin their Web,com Q-School bids in California and Florida next week.
