Reigning Open and US PGA champion Padraig Harrington will not change his mind and seek an invite for next week's BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth.

The Dubliner, 37, missed his fourth cut of the season in the 3 Irish Open at Co Louth and has not recorded a top 10 finish since January's Abu Dhabi Championship.

Planning to play two PGA Tour events to prepare for the US Open at Bethpage Black in three weeks, he said: "I am happy with my schedule."

Voted European Tour Player of the Year for 2008, Harrington will be at Wentworth for the annual European Tour dinner on Tuesday.

He has not played the tour's flagship event since 2007 because he does not feel comfortable on the greens, which will be replaced at the end of this season.

He also likes to play two events leading into a major and will return to action in two weeks' time for the Memorial at Muirfield Village and the St Jude Classic in Memphis.

The US Open will be played at Bethpage State Park's Black Course from June 18-21.
