Alan Murray is the best of the Irish at the halfway stage of the Tusker Kenya Open.

But the Greystones man is 11 strokes behind runaway leader Gary Boyd on level par after a second round 73.

Boyd fired a seven-under par 64 to lead by five shots from Carl Suneson of Spain and South African David Hewan on 11-under.

Gareth Shaw and Peter O'Keeffe made the three-over par cut by a shot but Noel Fox, Michael McGeady and Simon Thornton missed out.
