The GUI has named 16 Boys in two eight-strong teams to take on France and Wales in international friendly matches later this month.

Ireland struggled as England and Scotland come out on top on day one at Boys Home Internationals in Wales.

The Island's Kevin LeBlanc and County Louth's Thomas Mulligan came close to making the Irish Senior team for the Home Internationals. But after helping Leinster win the senior Interpros for the first time in seven years, they will lead a strong Irish Boys team in the Boys' Home Internationals in Wales next month.

Ciarndhu's Marc McKinstry cruised to a massively impressive eight-stroke, wire-to-wire victory in the Connacht Under 18 Championship at a pristine Roscommon Golf Club.

Cairndhu's Marc McKinstry fired a four under par 68 to take a three stroke lead after the first round of the Connacht Under 18 Boys Championship at Roscommon. 

He might only be 16th in the French Boys Order of Merit but Adrien Penadaries showed the field a clean pair of heels in round three of the Irish Boys Amateur Open in Tuam.

Ninety-three kilogram open-side flankers find it hard to sneak up quietly but the GUI appears to have been taken by surprise by Castle's Barry Fitzpatrick.
