The R&A has confirmed the schedule of events that will make up The Open Qualifying Series for 2023 and the exemption categories for The 151st Open at Royal Liverpool.

Dubliner David Carey and Galway’s Ronan Mullarney were pinching themselves last night after coming through Final Qualifying to clinch their places in The 150th Open at St Andrews.

Four of the finest golf courses in Great Britain and Ireland have been confirmed as new venues to stage Final Qualifying for The Open.

The 2022 Irish Open will be one of 16 events in 11 countries to offer qualifying spots in The 150th Open at St Andrews through The Open Qualifying Series.

Ireland’s 10-strong challenge came up short in the battle for 12 spots at Final Qualifying for The Open.

Ten Irish players will be amongst the 288 dreamers chasing 12 golden tickets to The Open at Royal St George’s when they tee it up in 36-hole Final Qualifying at four English venues today.

At least nine Irish players will compete in Final Qualifying for The Open at four venues across England on Tuesday.
