It’s one of the top events on the women’s calendar and captain Helen Waters is looking forward to seeing a top-class field next month,

"Our scratch cup is now a top-five event in the women's Bridgestone Order of Merit and we look forward to welcoming Ireland's elite amateur golfers to Dun Laoghaire GC,” she said.

“This event is held in memory of Peter Cosgrave, whose family was closely involved in delivering the incredible facilities and course we enjoy today."

The men’s title is also a coveted one and East of Ireland champion David Howard from Fota Island is one of the big favourites this year.

"This tournament, now in its third year, has already enjoyed success and gained recognition as an important Irish amateur golfing event,” said men’s captain Sean Ryan.”We in Dun Laoghaire GC want it to be an essential fixture in the diaries of all the best amateur players in the country, and we also want to enjoy seeing them conquer the challenges our course presents."
