The Co Kildare star, who finished tenth in the Ladies European Tour Order of Merit to earn her spot in the field, then played seven holes of her final round in one under on the Crossings Course last night.

That left her tied for 31st on two under when play was suspended due to darkness, just two strokes outside the top 25 and ties who will be awarded LPGA Tour status.

China’s Jing Yan held the lead on 11 under through ten holes of her final round, one stroke clear of Japan’s Kokona Sakurai and Germany’s Helen Briem, who had played nine and seven holes respectively.

France’s Perrine Delacour (T5), Switzerland’s Chiara Tamburlini (T8), England’s Jodi Ewart Shadoff and France’s Nastasia Nadaud (T15), Sweden’s Frida Kinhult and England’s Mimi Rhodes (T18), Italy’s Carolina Melgrati T23) and Slovenia’s Ana Belac (T27) were all inside the qualifying places at the close of play

The event was scheduled for five rounds but no play was possible on the opening day due to heavy rain.

As a result, the tournament was reduced to a 72-hole event with no cut to facilitate a Tuesday finish.
