Grant, Murphy and MacCanna qualify for Final Stage of Alps Tour Q-School

Irish amateurs Stephen Grant, Sam Murphy and Cathal MacCanna were among the 86 golfers to come through the First Stage of the 2025 Alps Tour Qualifying School in Italy.
Former Irish Boys champion Murphy finished second of 30 qualifiers at Golf Club Le Fonti on three under after rounds of 68 and 71.
Former professional footballer Grant was eighth on level par (67-73) at Golf Il Cerreto di Miglianico, where 33 qualified on six over or better.
Carton House’s MacCanna, who held a share of the halfway lead at the North of Ireland this year before fading to 35th, was joint seventh on level par (73-69) at Conero Golf Club, where the top 23 made it on six over or better.
They head now for the Final Stage at Golf Nazionale and Terre dei Consoli Golf Club near Rome from November 12th-14th.
Brandon St John (78-72) missed out by two shots at Conero while Keith McDermott (81-75) and Andrew Browne(76-80) were seven shots shy at Le Fonti.
Murphy, Grant and MacCanna will be joined at the Final Stage by Mark Boucher and Tom Dowdall.
