Power keeps victory hopes alive in Bermuda Championship

Seamus Power birdied his final hole for the third day running to give himself a chance to win the Butterfield Bermuda Championship and save his PGA Tour card.

The West Waterford man (38) brushed in a two and a half footer for a four under 67 at Port Royal Golf Course to move up to eighth on nine-under-par.

He's just three shots off the lead as he seeks a win that would catapult him from 133rd in the FedEx Cup Fall standings into the top 100 who will be exempt in 2026.

Adam Schenk shot 67 and Braden Thornberry a 69 to share the lead on 12-under.

They're a shot clear of Japan’s Takumi Kanaya, overnight leader Adam Hadwin of Canada and Americans Max McGreevy and Chandler Phillips, with Japan’s Rikuya Hoshino alone in seventh on 10-under.

Power lies a shot further back alongside Frankie Capan III, Vince Whaley and Noah Goodwin after another day of 30 mph winds in Southampton.

He started with a bogey where he hit his second into a penalty area but holed out from the rough for his five.

But he dug deep from there and birdied the second, fourth and sixth before adding further birdies at the 14th and 18th.

There's a lot at stake in the final round with Schenk (134th), Thornberry (178th), Kanaya (120th), McGreevy (100th), Hadwin (147th) and Phillips (139th) all desperate for points before the top 100 is set after The RSM Classic at Sea Island next week.

Power is also under pressure, but he can look back to his win in Bermuda in 2022 for confidence, and he will have a chance to put the leaders under pressure by posting a target for them to chase.
