O'Connor win key as Presentation College Athenry wins Irish Senior Cup

James O'Connor was the hero as Presentation College Athenry claimed Irish Schools Senior Cup win a 3.5-1.5 win over Patrician Academy, Mallow in Athlone.
The Galway school beat St Killian’s, Carnlough 3-2 in their semi-final as the Mallow students beat Scoil na mBraithre from Kilkenny 3-2 in the other.
Recently crowed Peter McEvoy Trophy winner Mark Power and his brother Kevin won their matches but wins for Chris Taylor, Eoin Aherne and Daniel O’Sullivan put Mallow into the final.
In the final, Presentation College were too strong with O’Connor’s 20th hole win over Eoin Aherne proving crucial.
