Thick fog force organisers to cancel the second round of the Gecko Pro Tour event at El Parador de Malaga and Torrequebrada.

No golf was possible on Wednesday at El Parador and a decision was taken to follow Gecko Tour rules and allow only the top 15 and ties from each course (not including amateurs) after the first round to dispute the third and final round at El Parador on Thursday.

Simon Ward fired a six under 66 at El Parador on Wednesday and lead by one stroke from Daniel Serón and by two from Marcus Mohr.

Scores

Rory McNamara made the final round after his opening 74 at Torrequebrada, but Matt McAlpin, who shot 74 was cut as he wasn't inside the top 15 pros and ties at his first round venue, El Parador de Malaga

Needless to day, the decision by the organisers did not sit well with many of the professionals who missed out, even if it was in their regulations.
