Dooks and East Cork dominate Munster Inter Club finals

Mary Inglis celebrates after her 20th hole win gave Dooks the Junior Cup. Picture by Pat Cashman

The ILGU Inter Club Munster Championships concluded this weekend at the beautiful parkland course of Limerick Golf Club, writes the ILGU.

Despite severe storm damage earlier this year, the golf course was in perfect condition and a fitting backdrop to the magnificent display of golf from seasoned campaigners, as well as from some wonderfully talented younger players.

There were thrills, cheers & excitement aplenty, particularly when Mary Inglis sank her putt on the 20th hole to win the Junior Cup for Dooks.

Equally so, Kate Daly (East Cork) holed her putt on the 21st green  to overcome a gallant Ballybunion side and secure the Minor Cup for the Cork side.

The winners will now go forward to represent their clubs in the National Finals which will take place in Monkstown Golf Club from 24th – 27th September 2014
