Detailed scoreboard

The Dubliner was four over par after five bogeys and a birdie in his first 10 holes but then crucially birdied the 13th, 14th and 16th to get back to just one over.

Bogeys at the last two holes didn't matter in the end as his back nine of level par 36 was three better than McDonald, who made three of his four bogeys in the last four holes.

Westmantown's Jack Doherty won the best Under 14 prize, while Sean Dowling shot 75 to tie for third with Laytown and Bettystown's Thomas Mulligan, Ashbourne's Cian McCormack and Galgorm Castle's Daniel Reilly.

The top Under 13 prize went to Connemara's Luke O'Neill, who fired an 82 with the highlight a sweet birdie two at the 155-yard third.
