Tullamore star Grehan shot a one over par 72 in high winds at Los Lagartos near Buenos Aires with Headfort’s McNamara weighing in with a 77 to leave the Irish boys on 301, eleven strokes behind Spain’s Mario Galiano Aguilar and David Morago Ayra in the 16-nation event. The Spanish lead by two strokes on 290 from overnight leaders Denmark with hosts Argentina four behind in third place.

Grehan had three birdies and four bogeys in testing conditions to post his 72 while West of Ireland champion McNamara had two birdies, six bogeys and a double bogey six in his 77.

Galiano and Denmark’s Nicolai Buchwardt Kristensen lead the individual standings by two strokes on level par 142 with Grehan tied for eighth on seven over and McNamara joint 23rd on 10 over.
