Australia’s Geoff Drakeford shot a third round 66 to propel Australia into the 54-hole lead in the Copa Juan Carlos Talhade in Buenos Aires.Ireland’s Reeve Whitson and Richard O’Donovan went from five shots ahead to 10 behind new leaders Australia following completion of the third round in the weather-delayed Copa Juan Carlos Tailhade in Argentina.Teams standings

Whitson shot a two over 73 and O’Donovan a seven over 78 as Ireland slipped to third place behind New Zealand at Los Lagartos Country Country Club in the province of Buenos Aires.

Australia’s Geoff Drakeford carded a best of the week, five under 66 and as compatriot Jordan Zunic shot a 69 to leave Australia eight shots clear of New Zealand on 423 entering this afternoon’s final round.

Ireland are five ahead of fourth-placed South Africa on 433 with hosts Argentina fifth on 439.

In the individual standings Drakeford leads by five shots on 206 from martin Kim and New Zealander Joshua Munn with Whitson eight shots off the lead in sixth place on one-over 214.

The Mourne player had two birdies and four bogeys in his 73 while Lucan star O’Donovan slipped to tied 11th on six over 219 after a 78 featuring three birdies, eight bogeys and a double bogey.
