The three Irish Curtis Cup representatives who did Ireland proud in the recent matches in the USA are all set to test their considerable skills against the very best players in the the AIB Ladies Irish Open from August 6-8.

The 15 year old Cavan twins, Lisa and Leona Maguire will join Curtis Cup team mate Danielle McVeigh and 17 Solheim Cup players at Killeen Castle.

The star studded field features Suzann Pettersen, Brittany Lincicome, Angela Stanford, Brittany Lang and Cristina Kim plus the complete European Solheim Cup team.

Event promoter Roddy Carr said: “I spoke with the Danielle and the twins when they were down at Killeen Castle last week for a practice round and they cannot wait for the challenge.

“They do not seem in the slightest bit intimidated and such is their level of talent, I believe they can be competitive.

“Danielle looked head and shoulders above even the best American players in the Curtis Cup and the twins are simply a phenomenon. Remember Shane Lowry last year in Baltray!!”
