GUI names players for Portugal and Spain

Robbie CannonThe Golfing Union of Ireland has named the players who will represent Ireland in the Portuguese and Spanish amateur championships in February and March.

Paul Cutler (Portstewart), Alan Dunbar (Rathmore), Robert Cannon (Laytown & Bettystown) and Reeve Whitson (Mourne) will tee it up in the Portuguese Amateur Open Championship at Aroeira 1 Golf Club from 18-21 February.

Cutler and Dunbar will be joined by Paul Dunne (Greystones), Dara Lernihan (Castle), Cian Curley (Newlands) and Luke Lennox (Moyola Park) in the Spanish Amateur Open Championship at La Reserva Golf Club from 3-7 March.

Dunbar, Curley, Cutler and Lernihan were all members of the European Team Championship and Home International Team in 2009, while Robert Cannon was a member of the Home Internationals Team and won the South of Ireland Amateur Open Championship in 2009.
