Shane Lowry has been told to watch out for boom microphones now that he has joined the European Tour.

The Offaly man, 22, dropped what the Americans like to call F-bombs during the excitement of his 3 Irish Open victory at Baltray.

Tour players can be fined for behaviour that adversely affects the image of the tour and its Director of Operations, David Garland, made sure that Lowry is fully aware of that fact.

"We don't want this to diminish in any way the fantastic achievement by Shane and a truly wonderful occasion at Baltray," Garland said at Wentworth. "Now he's decided to join the Tour and take up his category, we wish him every success in future. He is an exciting addition to the Tour."
