McDowell ninth in Shanghai

Graeme McDowell grabbed his third top-10 of the season as Raphael Jacquelin cruised to a wire-to-wire victory in the BMW Asian Open.

The Ulsterman closed with a 71 in soggy Shanghai to finish five shots behind in ninth place and move up to 32nd in the Order of Merit.

Jacquelin carded a one over par 73 but still finished two clear of Dane Soren Kjeldsen on 10 under par to claim his second tour title.

A torrential downpour marred the closing holes and dampened Irish spirits with Damien McGrane forced to settle for 26th place after a 75.

Kilkenny's Gary Murphy crashed from 18th to 51st after a nightmare 81 while Peter Lawrie's 77 left him tied for 58th on seven over.
