Clarke trails Cabrera

US Open champion Angel Cabrera held off Vijay Singh to win the Barclays Singapore Open by a shot.

Singh posted a four under par 67 to draw level with Cabrera at Sentosa Golf Club on seven under par.

But the Argentinian birdied the par-five 18th for a one over par 72 to claim the $634,000 top prize on eight under par.

Singh said: "I looked back and I saw Angel hit it 400 yards down the middle! He was going in with a medium or a short iron, so I knew he would make a birdie."

It was Cabrera's third victory on the trot following his play-off win over Padraig Harrington in the PGA Grand Slam of Golf and last week's Argentina Masters.

Darren Clarke closed with a three over par 74 to finished in a five-way tie for 23rd with the likes of Phil Mickelson (79) on eight over par.
