Ireland's trio of PGA Tour hopefuls got off to sub-par starts in their bid to make the Q-School finals.

Waterville's Mark Murphy opened his stage two account with a two under par 69 to share 12th place at TPC Craig Ranch in Texas.

But it could have been even lower for the Kerryman who was four under par after 10 holes but had two birdies, two bogeys and a double coming home.

Bray's Keith Nolan is tied for 16th at The Woodlands Tournament Course in Texas after an eagle, two birdies and three bogeys in a one under par 71.

But Muskerry's Niall Turner is tied 40th at Lake Jovita Country Club in Florida, despite carding a one under par 71.
