McCormack one clear in Connacht Stroke Play at halfway

Galway Bay’s Eddie McCormack has a one-stroke lead heading into the last two rounds of the Connacht Men’s Stroke Play at Portumna.
He added a 72 to his opening 71 to lead by a shot from Portumna’s James McLaughlin (71, 73) on one-under.
Athlone’s Thomas O’Connor, Roganstown’s Joshua McCabe and Belvoir Park’s Darcy Hogg are just two shots behind on one-over with Malone’s Fionn Dobbin sixth on two-over.
International David Kitt and Edmondstown’s Lorcan O’Connor are just four behind on three-over.
The cut fell at 10-over par.
