Seamus Power will join Brooks Koepka and Dustin Johnson in the $7.4 million Travelers Championship this week after he fired a seven-under 65 to Monday qualify last night.

The West Waterford man (34) made an eagle and six birdies to finish second in the race for four spots at Ellington Ridge Country Club in Connecticut, two strokes behind playing partner Stephen Stallings.

Australia’s Lucas Herbert was third after a 66 as Andrew Svoboda claimed the fourth spot at TPC River Highlands in a playoff with John Augenstein, Ryan Davis and Mark Anderson after they shot 67s. Scores

It’s the second time Power has Monday qualified this year. He shot 62 to make the Wells Fargo Championship at Quail Hollow last month.

At 166th in the FedEx Cup standings, he needs a good week as he continues his bid to make top 125 who will have full playing rights for the 2021-22 season.

Meanwhile, Leona Maguire moved up 25 spots to a career-high 63rd in the Rolex World Rankings following her runner-up finish to Nelly Korda in the Meijer LPGA Classic on Sunday.

She's the eighth-highest ranked European heading into this week’s third Major of the season, the KPMG Women’s PGA at Atlanta Athletic Club, and must be considered a likely candidate for a Solheim Cup call up in September.
