The hugely successful Flogas Irish Scratch Series will bring the curtain down on 2020 with a €1,000 Christmas outing at Seapoint Golf Links on December 21.

The Series was set up to give our amateur stars and touring professionals some competitive practice during the coronavirus pandemic, kicking off on June 29 with a win for Seapoint amateur Dylan Keating.

The Series attracted a wealth of home-grown talent with LPGA player Leona Maguire the winner of the second event.

There were further wins for Marc Boucher, Curtis Cup hopeful Lauren Walsh, The K Club’s new touring professional Conor O’Rourke, Cork’s John Hickey and Whitehead professional John Ross Galbraith.

Women played a major role with the likes of Olivia Mehaffey, Beth Coulter, Katie Poots and Aine Donegan also teeing it up.

European Tour player Jonathan Caldwell was a regular participant while Ronan Mullarney, Stuart Grehan, Conor Purcell, Robin Dawson, Paul McBride and Jonathan Yates also put it up to the amateur internationals Peter O’Keeffe, Max Kennedy and Sam Murphy.

Organisers Valerie and Gary Keating hope to stage more events in 2021 and anyone interested it teeing it up at Seapoint next Monday (December 21) should call Gary on 087 22 87541 or email gkeating@gkevents.com
