Lahinch are just two strokes off the lead heading into the final round of the European Ladies' Club Trophy in Hungary.

Chloe Ryan shot a 73 and Sinead Sexton and Aine Donegan both had 77 in the second round at Balaton Golf Club to leave them on 18-over par with a round to go as they bid to become the first Irish team to win the title.

Germany’s St. Leon-Rot Golf Club lead on 16-under with Danish club Smorum Golf Club in the bronze medal position on 20-over.

Geneva Golf Club’s Caroline Sturdza leads the individual standings on five-over after rounds of 78 and 71 with the Lahinch trio all inside the top 10,.

Donegan’s brace of 77s leaver her tied fifth on 10-over with Ryan (82-73) tied seventh on 11-over and Sexton (79-77) a shot further back in joint ninth.
