Seamus Power had eight single putts in a second round 70 to make the cut on the mark in the John Deere Classic at TPC Deere Run.

The West Waterford man, 30,  is tied for 70th on two-under par, 11 strokes behind Patrick Rodgers (65-64).

Rodgers leads by two shots on 13-under par from former US Amateur champion Bryson DeChambeau (66-65) with Zach Johnson (65-67) and Charles Howell III (63-69) tied for third on 10-under.

Power is 145th in the FedEx Cup standings and trying to move into the top 125 who keep their cards.

His challenge now is to improve on his weekend scoring average — 71.545 compared to 69.66 for the first two rounds this season.
