Irish Boys sixth on mixed week at European Amateur Team Championships

Ireland finished seventh in the European Amateur Team Championship at Diamond Country Club in Austria when they beat Norway 3-2 on the final day.

As Spain beat England 4-3 to claim the title (Scores) and Italy beat Sweden 4-3 to take the bronze, Ireland lost both foursomes against the Norwegians but took all three singles thanks to wins for Stuart Grehan, Conor O'Rourke and John Ross Galbraith. 

England captured the European Ladies’ Team Championship (Scores) at Montado Golf Resort in Portugal thanks to an emphatic 5.5-1.5 win over Italy as Sweden beat Spain 4.5-2.5 to take the bronze. 

Ireland finished ninth thanks to a 3.5-1.5 win over France with Sinead Sexton and Chloe Ryan winning the foursomes, singles wins for Olivia Mehaffey and Maria Dunne and a halved match for Paula Grant. Scores

Sweden beat Italy 5.5-1.5 to win the European Girls’ Team Championship at St. Laurence Golf in Finland with England claiming the bronze thanks to a 5-2 win over Spain. Scores

Ireland's Girls fell 3-2 to Finland (Scores) on the final day and finished 10th while at the European Boys’ Team Championship at La Manga Club in Spain, Ireland finished sixth following a 4.5-0.5 defeat to France (Scores)

Denmark denied hosts Spain the tile with a 4-3 win (Scores) as Italy beat Sweden 4.5-2.5 to take the bronze.
