West of Ireland champion Barry Anderson will headline the 75-strong field in next weekend's Munster Strokeplay Championship at Cork.

Winner of the Munster title in 2014, Anderson is one of over 50 plus-handicap golfers in the field after the handicap cut off fell at a new low of 0.3.

Kinsale's Cathal Butler, the title holder, will be back in time from competing for Maynooth University in the International Amateur Championship in Peru to defend his title.

Sponsored by Ryan’s SuperValu, the tournament is a counting event for the Willie Gill Order of Merit.

All 75 entrants will play 36 holes on Saturday with the top 39 plus ties going on to play the second 36 holes on Sunday.
