Paul Dunne rallied after a horror start but a two-over-par 73 leaves the Greystones man three strokes outside the projected cut in the Tshwane Open in South Africa.

The former Walker Cup player bogeyed five of his first seven holes but came back with three birdies in the next six and the followed a bogey at his 15th hole with a closing birdie.

It all added up to a two-over-par 73, which leaves Dunne tied for 103rd with the cut projected to fall at one-under-par at Pretoria Country Club.

Darren Clarke shot a three-over-par 74 as Sweden's Alexander Bjork, France's Gregory Havret and South Africa's Hayden Porteous carded six-under 65s to lead by one from a five-strong chasing group.
