Annesley Williams Škoda Matchplay returns to Sutton

The sixth Annesley Williams Škoda 9-Hole Matchplay Championship comes to Sutton Golf Club from 26–27 September, closing the PGA in Ireland season and finalising the Elavon Order of Merit.

A Pro-Am on Friday 25 September sets the stage. Then 32 of Ireland’s leading PGA Professionals take on Sutton’s classic 9-hole links at Cush Point.

Saturday’s round-robin features eight groups of four; Sunday’s knockout decides the champion.

Annesley Williams Škoda has sponsored the event since 2019. There’s a €20,000 prize fund, and all 32 players are guaranteed a cheque.

Roganstown’s Neil O’Briain returns as defending champion. The event was the brainchild of Sutton Head Professional Paddy Devine, continuing the club’s long PGA in Ireland connection.

“This event has become a real highlight of the Irish PGA season,” said Cian Bennis, Managing Director at Annesley Williams.

Entry is free, and spectators are welcome to watch Ireland’s top PGA pros in action.
