Grehan and Tiernan set for Jones Cup Invitational; Irish quartet at South American Amateur

Stuart Grehan and Gavin Tiernan begin their quests for spots on the 2026 Walker Cup team in the Jones Cup Invitational in Georgia today.
The County Louth duo, who played on the Great Britain and Ireland side that lost to the USA at Cypress Point last September, will be hoping to make the side that will take on the Americans at Lahinch Golf Club in Co Clare from September 5-6.
There are 17 GB&I competitors in the 84-man field at Ocean Forest Golf Club in Sea Island, including 2025 GB&I Walker Cup team mates Niall Shiels Donegan, Eliot Baker, Luke Poulter and Tyler Weaver.
Meanwhile. Kate Dillon (Oughterard), Katie Poots (Knock), Fionn Dobbin (Malone) and Joshua Hill (Galgorm Castle) tee it up in the South American Amateur at Nordelta Golf Club in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
