Ireland beat Germany 3.5-2.5 to finish fifth as Italy edged out host Spain to win the Octagonal International Match at Costa Ballena.

Ireland lost 5.5.-3.5 to England before beating Spain 3.5-1.5 and Portugal 4-2.

Italy beat Germany, the Netherlands and Switzerland before a 3-3 tie with Spain gave them the overall title by 11-10.
