Tour review: Kennedy, Mullarney, Walsh and Byrne in top 15; Maguire cut

Leona Maguire missed her fourth cut in a row for the first time in her professional career in the Meijer LPGA Classic.

Down to 87th in the world, Maguire shot rounds of 72 and 73 to miss out by two shots at Blythefield Country Club Michigan.

Spain’s Carlota Ciganda claimed her third win and her first since 2016 by a shot from Hye-Jin Choi on 16-under.

Maguire is 59th in the Race to CME Globe standings as she struggles to regain her best form from tee to green.

Ladies European Tour

Lauren Walsh claimed her fourth top ten of the season when she finished tied for fifth in the Hulencourt Women’s Open in Belgium.

She shot rounds of 73, 69, 68 and 71 to finish six shots behind Wales’ Darcey Harry on seven under (€10,050).

Sara Byrne had her second top 15 finish when she tied for 15th on four-under(€5,325).

Anna Foster and Olivia Mehaffey missed the cut by a shot on three over while Canice Screene was a shot further back.

HotelPlanner Tour

Max Kennedy clinched the best finish of his fledgling tour career when he tied for 11th in the Raiffeisenbank Golf Challenge at Kaskáda Golf Resort in the Czech Republic.

He went into the final round in a tie for seventh on nine-under, five off the lead, and closed with a one-under 70 to finish 11 shots behind American Jackson Palmer, who shot 64 to win by six shots on 21-under

Jonathan Caldwell (two-over), Mark Power (four-over) and John Murphy (six-over) missed the level par cut.

Murphy was tied for 10th after a first-round 68 but shot 80 in round two to miss out.

The top 20 in the Road to Mallorca rankings will secure DP World Tour status.

Liam Nolan is ninth in the rankings with Dermot McElroy 60th and Kennedy 72nd.

Power is 87th, Caldwell 96th, Alex Maguire 166th and Daniel Mulligan 223rd.

Alps Tour

Mullarney clinches top-10 in Metz

Ronan Mullarney recorded his third top-ten of the season in the Open de la Mirabelle d’Or in Metz.

The Galway man (29) shot rounds of 64, 70 and 66 to finish tied for fourth on 10-under par at Golf de La Grange aux Ormes.

He finished just three strokes behind Italy’s Jacopo Vecchi Fossa, who won by a shot from compatriot Luca Memeo on 13-under.

Vecchi Fossa topped the Alps Tour rankings in 2021 and he’s top again this season with 20,631.38 points.

The top five earn HotelPlanner Tour status and Mullarney is now ninth, some 4,000 points outside the top five

Robert Moran was tied for second heading into the final day after rounds of 68 and 65.

But a closing 72 left him joint 19th on five-under and 18th in the Order of Merit.

Hugh Foley is 21st in the Order of Merit after he tied for 23rd in France on three-under after rounds of 67, 68 and 72.
