In-form John Doyle to headline Trade Electric Group Castletroy Senior Scratch Cup

Irish Boys champion John Doyle will be one to watch as an extended field tees it up in the Trade Electric Group-sponsored Castletroy Senior Scratch Cup on Sunday.

Doyle, who also won the Munster Stroke Play but recently lost in a playoff for the St Andrews Links Trophy, will be joined by his Boys international teammates Adam Fahey (Portmarnock) and Isaac Oliver (Glasson).

The 78-strong field — extended due to high demand — features three former Irish Amateur Close champions in defending champion Paul O’Hanlon, Quentin Carew and Pat Murray.

Athenry’s David Kitt, the champion two years ago, returns to Castletroy, having missed the opportunity to defend his title in 2024 due to his participation in the World Universities Championships.
