Liam Nolan is back in the groove as he continues his bid for a DP World Tour card.
Watched by his family, the Galway man roared to nine-under for his round through 16 holes before two closing bogeys forced him to settle for a seven-under 65 in the HotelPlanner Tour’s Danish Golf Challenge.
The Bearna golfer goes into the final round tied for third on 12-under par, just five shots behind Scotland’s Calum Fyfe at Bogense Golf Club.
The top 20 in the Road to Mallorca rankings earn promotion to the main tour and Nolan (25) lies 15th with the meat of the season to come.
Fyfe carded a four under 68 to go into the final round three shots clear of Denmark’s Jonathan Gøth-Rasmussen after he posted a six under par 66 to move into solo second.
Having personally endured a tough period after his mother's passing, the 27-year-old was proud of his third-round effort in Denmark.
“Back home, I’ve been through a lot. I lost my mum a couple of weeks ago, and I feel like she’s helped me out there a couple of times. I’ve hit bad shots, and it went well,” he said.
“I always knew I had the game to compete on here, it was just about doing it.”
Daniel Mulligan was 45th on three under after a 74.
Meanwhile, Elm Park’s Anna Foster (23) continued her excellent rookie season when she tied for 17th behind maiden winner Sára Kousková in the LET’s Jabra Ladies Open.
The Dubliner closed with a two-under 69 at Evian Resort to finish eight shots behind the Czech star on two-under.
Foster is now 40th in the Order of Merit after seven starts, with fellow rookie Annabel Wilson 58th after she tied for 54th on seven-over in France after a closing 74.
Lauren Walsh is 11th in the Order of Merit despite missing the cut in France.
