Max Kennedy the lone Irish entrant for LIV Golf Promotions

Max Kennedy in action at the LIV Golf Promotions in 2023
Max Kennedy will be hoping it will be a case of third time lucky when he tees it up in next month’s LIV Golf Promotions event in Florida.
The Royal Dublin man has a strong HotelPlanner Tour card after finishing 46th in the Road to Mallorca standings in his rookie season in 2025.
But he will still try for his LIV Golf card for the third year running and tee it up in the third edition of LIV Golf Promotions at Black Diamond Ranch in Florida from January 8–11.
The four-day, 72-hole stroke play event will offer three spots in the 2026 LIV Golf League as well as exemptions for The International Series, sanctioned by the Asian Tour.
The top three finishers at Black Diamond Ranch will be awarded full-season Wild Card spots in the 2026 LIV Golf League, an increase from the two spots previously announced, as well as $200,000, $150,000 and $100,000, respectively.
The top 10 finishers, including ties, will earn a full exemption into the 2026 International Series, the set of elevated events sanctioned by the Asian Tour.
Kennedy is the only Irish player entered for LIV Golf Promotions after five players tried their luck last year.
In 2023, the University of Louisville graduate came up just shy in his bid to make the 36-hole final day shootout for three spots in the 2024 LIV Golf League at Abu Dhabi Golf Club.
He returned to LIV Golf Promotions alongside amateur Matt McClean and Walker Cup trio Alex Maguire, Liam Nolan and Mark Power last year but failed to get through the first round at Riyadh Golf Club.
Neither Stuart Grehan (who regained his amateur status last year) nor Gavin. Tiernan, who both played in the 2025 Walker Cup, took up the opportunity to bid for LIV cards in January.
However, the field features two members of the 2025 GB&I side — Dominic Clemons and Charlie Forster — and Palmer Cup player Pablo Ereno from Spain, the former world amateur number six.
The 83-man field features a host of former DP World Tour winners, including Chris Wood, Alex Levy, Matthias Schwab, Tom Lewis and Lucas Bjerregaard
Several returning LIV Golf players are entered in the field, including Ben Campbell, Matt Jones and Anthony Kim.
LIV Golf has lost Brooks Koepka, but announced that its regular season field size will increase to 57 players, with 13 four-player teams and five Wild Card players competing throughout the League’s global schedule.
