Struggle for Walsh at LPGA Q-Series after nightmare finish in round one

Lauren Walsh has her work cut out to make it through to Final Qualifying for her LPGA card in Florida.

The Castlewarden golfer suffered a blow in the first round on the Bobat Course at Plantation Golf and Country Club, where she opened with a nine-over 81.

Scores

After starting with three birdies, Walsh bogeyed the fifth and seventh before following double bogeys at the 12th and 16th with a sextuple bogey 10 at the 16th.

After starting with two bogeys in round two on the Panther Course to go 11-over, she regrouped well to card a 71 and get back to eight-over.

It was a score that left her tied for 175th at halfway and ten strokes outside the top 45 and ties who will progress to Final Qualifying over 90 holes, where the top 25 and ties will earn LPGA cards.
