Keeling bows out on 19th in last 16 at Copa del Rey

Irish interest ended in the Copa del Rey and the Copa de la Reina as all four Irish survivors bowed out on day two of matchplay action.
In the Copa del Rey at Infinitum’s Lakes Course in Tarragona, Roganstown teenager Sean Keeling beat Spain’s Pablo Perez 3&1 in the last 32 but fell on the 19th to the 2021 Flogas Irish Amateur Open runner-up Nicola Gerhardsen in the last 16 after the Swiss player had beaten Royal Dublin’s Richard Knightly 3&1 in the last 32.
In the Copa de la Reina at La Reserva in Cadiz, Aideen Walsh lost 4&2 to Spain’s Chloe Amion in the last 32 as Marina Joyce Moreno fell 3&2 to Ines Archer of France.
