Kearns sausages put the ‘banger’ into fundraising for McGinley Foundation

Stephen O’Carroll (pictured right), head of sales and marketing for Kearns Sausages presented a cheque to Irish golfing legend Paul McGinley (pictured left), founder of the McGinley Foundation who is joined by his father and former Donegal Gaelic footballer, Mick McGinley.

Earlier this year Kearns, one of Ireland’s best-selling sausage brands, pledged 30 cent from every pack of Mrs Brown’s Bangers sold during September and October to the McGinley Foundation, created by golfer Paul McGinley.

Kearns Sausages has just revealed that the staggering amount raised is €26,658, explained Stephen O’Carroll, head of sales and marketing for Kearns Sausages.

“In just two months the people of Ireland helped to raise over €26k which will go on to help so many Irish charities, good causes and organisations in the run up to Christmas.

“Mrs Brown, one of Dublin’s finest mammies, joined the campaign this year and helped us spread the word across Ireland. We know that these funds will allow the McGinley Foundation to continue the great work it does here”, said Stephen.

Irish comedy legend, Brendan O’Carroll, said: “I was delighted to help Kearns Sausages raise much-needed funds for the McGinley Foundation. Mrs Brown is a huge fan of Kearns bangers, so she was always going to bring the sizzle to help kids and families in Ireland.”

The McGinley Foundation, which was set up in 2013 when Paul McGinley was announced as the 2014 European Ryder Cup Captain, aims to support charities and not-for-profit organisations with particular emphasis on those that assist and support children and young adults.

Paul McGinley said: “I would like to thank Kearns, Brendan O’Carroll and everyone who bought a packet of Kearns Sausages as you will make a difference to a lot of people this Christmas. One of the first groups to benefit from the donation will be the under 14s Na Fianna GAA team in Dublin with more announcements to follow in the next month.”

From humble beginnings in a Dublin butcher shop in 1905, the Kearns Sausages business has expanded over the decades and its packs of sausages can now be found on supermarket shelves around the country. Visit www.kearnssausages.com for more information.
