Big Irish entry for First Stage of DP World Tour Q-School

The DP World Tour Qualifying School returns tomorrow for the first time in three years and 22 Irish players have entered the First Stage.

Castle’s Robert Moran and San Francisco-based Redmond Lyons will get the ball rolling at Montado Golf Resort in Portugal tomorrow with Royal Dublin’s Richard Knightly and Gary McGrane set for Arkandastad Golf in Sweden next week.

Stephen Grant is back for another attempt alongside Robin Dawson in Austria next week while Alps Tour regulars Conor O’Rourke, Paul McBride, Jonathan Yates, James Sugrue and Michael Young are joined at Bogono in Italy from September 20-23 by Rowan Lester.

Tim Rice, Daniel Brennan and Co Sligo’s Ruairi O’Connor play in Denmark from September 27-30 while in October, Stuart Grehan, Ronan Mullarney, John Hickey, Daniel Mulligan, Liam Grehan and Stephen Cunningham play Mottram St Andrew in Cheshire.

Those who progress will qualify for the Second Stage at four Spanish venues in October with the six-round Final Stage set for Infinitum in Tarragona from November 11-16.
