Hermitage to celebrate 50th Ladies Scratch Cup on May 1

Lady Captain, Mary Hackett wishes to announce that the 50th Hermitage Ladies Scratch Cup will be held on Sunday 1st May 2022.

Mary is delighted that the Scratch Cup has a new sponsor, The Hudson Rooms at Liffey Valley. The Hudson Rooms is a nearby Gastropub owned by the Towey family, and Frank and Declan Towey are members of Hermitage Golf Club.

The Hudson Rooms at Liffey Valley is proud to be associated with this prestigious event in such a special year, and at a time when women’s golf in Ireland is in such a pre-eminent place in Irish sport. Leona Maguire, who recently had a historic win in the LPGA played in the Scratch Cup in her amateur days winning the cup on three separate occasions.

This year Hermitage Golf Club won the award for the best parkland course which is the fourth time they have received this award.

Hermitage is looking forward to welcoming the top Irish lady golfers to this event, which was initiated by Eithne Scott, Joan Wylde and Irish Legend golfer Mary McKenna.

Killarney’s Valerie Clancy won the 49th edition of the event by a whopping seven shots from County Louth’s Deirdre Smith on eight-under-par last year.
