Olivia Mehaffey was one of 95 players to advance to Stage II of the LPGA Qualifying Tournament in California last night.

The Royal County Down Ladies’ and Tandragee golfer followed rounds of 73, 69 and 76 with a level par 72 on the Dinah Shore Tournament Course at Mission Hills Country Club in Rancho Mirage to finish tied for 75th on two-over-par at Stage I.

American amateur Gina Kim closed with a five-under 67 ion the Dinah Shore course to top the leaderboard by a shot on 15-under par from China’s Huize Lian.

A total of 95 players finished at 3-over par or better to advance to Stage II which is scheduled for the Panther and Bobcat courses at Plantation Golf and Country Club in Florida from October 21-24.

The top 30 and ties, at least, will advance from Stage II to the Q-Series while those who don’t advance but complete 72 holes will receive Symetra Tour status.

The top 45 and ties, at a minimum, will receive LPGA membership after the 144-hole, two-week Q Series with those who play six rounds (108 holes) getting Symetra Tour status.
