Grant Engineering has given Holywood’s Tom McKibbin a vote of confidence by agreeing to sponsor him for the next three years.

The home heating appliance manufacturer could have sponsored any number of Irish players but McKibbin (18), who made his professional debut at the Tenerife Open on the European Tour in April, got the nod.

While he never won a senior domestic amateur event — he was runner up in the Australian Amateur Championship in 2020 — McKibbin excelled worldwide in the junior ranks.

Amongst his many victories are the Faldo Series, the Junior Honda Classic and the prestigious Junior Invitational at Sage Valley and the Peter McEvoy Trophy.

He also represented Ireland in the 2019 Home Internationals at Lahinch but turned professional after failing to earn Walker Cup selection for the matches at Seminole in May.

He made his first cut as a professional at the Irish Challenge at Portmarnock Links in May and clinched his career-best finish when he tied for 26th in the ISPS HANDA World Invitational presented by Modest! Golf Management earlier this month.

“It is a great honour for me to be supported by Grant Engineering, a company which is renowned for its own success in the global heating industry,” McKibbin said. “I am very thankful for the support and am looking forward to our journey ahead together.”

Stephen Grant, founder, Grant Engineering said, “We are delighted to be partnering with Tom. Having followed his amateur career, it is clear Tom has impressive talent and is undoubtedly one of the world’s best young golfers. We wish him every success with his professional career.”

Grant designs and manufactures innovative home heating technologies which are used by homeowners all over the world. The company has also previously supported golfing events including the NI Open.
