Roganstown sixth with a round to go in European Men's Club Trophy

Roganstown’s teenage team moved up to sixth place heading into Saturday’s final round of the European Men's Club Trophy in Portugal.

The AIG Senior Cup holders moved four places up the leaderboard at Troia Golf as Patrick Keeling shot a level par 72 and Charlie Kelly a 73 with Sean Keeling’s 81 discarded.

At nine-over par, they are 14 strokes behind Rosendaelsche Golfclub from the Netherlands who lead by six strokes from Golf de Biarritz le Phare with Denmark’s Smørum Golfklub a shot further back in third.

In the individual standings,  Rosendaelsche’s Kiet Julian Van der Weele and Golf de Biarritz’s Antoine Auboin head the leaderboard on five-under-par, two strokes clear of Smørum’s Jens Kristian Thystead.

However, Patrick Keeling is an excellent tied sixth on three-over after rounds of 75 and 72 with Kelly tied 24th on eight-over and Sean Keeling tied 41st in the 72-man field on 14-over.
